The 100 Push Up Challenge Week 22

The 100 Push Up Challenge Week 22 introduces another crazy push up variation into the mix, Archer Push Ups. This is a weekly push up challenge running throughout the year, each week getting progressively harder than before.

Yo yo yo!

Rhys here for Week 22 of the 100 Push Up Challenge.

This week we are doing a 1-arm push up progression. This is one of my favourite push ups – I like doing them on rings like a TRX.

Anyway if you haven’t been keeping up with the challenge, you can find all of them over here on the 100 Push Up Challenge Page.

For now, let’s start doing some Archer Pushups.

The 100 Push Up Challenge Week 22

The Workout

Set 1 – 20 Archer Push Ups

Set 2 – 20 Hindu Push Ups

Set 3 – 20 Pseudo Planche Push Ups

Set 4 – 20 Lateral Leg Push Ups

Set 5 – 20 Bear Crawl Push Ups

How To Do Archer Push Ups

Archer push ups are one-arm-straight push ups.

To do an archer push up, set up with a ‘wide grip’ stance. To lower yourself to the ground, keep one arm straight and come down over the opposite hand.

Then push back up to the starting point, keeping that arm straight.

This means you are doing most of the work with one arm, and the other remains straight the whole rep.

Next rep, do the other arm.

Archer push ups are a great strength builder, and they will help with your straight arm strength too!
