It is a great gateway, but it is impotant to get into performance goals and results in order to keep motivated and on track
It helps you progress
That’s the great thing about calisthenics and bodyweight training
You have your progressions and each week you learn a new skill, harder than the next
In the back of your mind you still have your aesthetic goals, you want to look good, but it sneaks up on you a bit
Rather than checking yourself out, looking in the mirror every day, on the scales.
Instead every 2 weeks, you hit te scales and see you have dropped a stone
It is too stressful to be on the scales every day, it puts too much pressure on that result,
Something that will naturally fluctuate day to day anyway
When you are chasing performance, you will be able to see little changes every now and then.
You cant hide behind your standard 60-70Kg bench press in a performance goal.
