The 100 Push Up Challenge Week 15

The 100 Push Up Challenge is a weekly challenge running all of 2021, going from basic to extreme. Each week I put out a fresh challenge with new variation thrown into the mix to take you to the next level.

Yo Yo Yo!

It’s Week 15! This week we are bringing something a little more simple into the mix – but I’ll get to that in a minute.

If you haven’t been keeping up with the challenges, you should really think about going back to basics and building up to this point.

You can check out the full list of challenges on the 100 Push Up Challenge Page here.

This week we are going to be introducing a complex push up variation that is a progression for 1 Arm Push Ups. So shall we get started?

The 100 Push Up Challenge Week 15

The Workout

Set 1 – 20 x Raised Push Ups

Set 2 – 20 x Stability Ball Push Ups

Set 3 – 20 x Grasshopper Push Ups

Set 4 – 20 x Pike Push Ups

Set 5 – 20 x Spiderman Push Ups

Raised Push Ups

You will have seen raised push ups before, they are a very simple way of decreasing the difficulty of regular push ups.

You will start in a regular push up position, but with your feet raised up on a chair or bench.

From here you just smash out your regular push ups, lower your chest to the floor, then push straight back up again!

Increasing The Difficulty

By Raising The Lever

Raising your feet puts more weight onto your hands, making the reps harder.

This is a classic way to increase the difficulty of your reps because it is simple and effective.

Just as raising your feet makes your push ups harder, raising your hands makes it easier.

There are many other ways of increasing the difficulty of your reps like increasing the complexity of your movement – which we have already done a lot of.

Because it is essentially the same movement, you can do a lot of simple push up variations with your feet raised.

You could do a whole 100 Push Up Challenge with your feet raised . . . (Watch this space)

Although this is just the beginning phase, you are working towards handstand push ups with this exercise, so don’t think it doesn’t matter!
