Train Live With Us – 28 Days Of Training Live On Meerkat App

Not too long ago a few mobile video streaming apps turned up out of nowhere, and I thought it might be fun to give it a try!

MeerkatApp 28 Days Of Training Live

In 4 weeks my training partner is going on holiday somewhere sunny and he wants to get ripped before he goes. Sure he wants a bit of size put on, but the main goal is to look seriously shredded for the beach.

That Means We Have 28 Days To Get Him Ready

With the emergence of the Meerkat app, I had the idea of streaming our training sessions over the next 28 days, so you guys can see how we are training for his holiday – I’m not going sadly – and hopefully it will give you a good insight into the various training methods you can do with calisthenics.

We Have A Gym And The Internet, So Why Not?

Since we put up the parallel bars down the side of his house last weekend, we now have everything we need to get a total body workout readily available, and seeing as we are going to be training anyway, why not let you guys in on our sessions?

At first I thought there wouldn’t be much use for a video streaming app outside of interviews and events, but sitting in the office yesterday I had a bit of a revelation.

In sharing our training with you, I can help you learn exercises quickly, even if you don’t know what they are called!

You can see where we are with our progressions and you can ask me questions relating to it all if you need any information on the fly.

I always thought that live webinars would be a good thing to do in the future, or google hangouts, so we can sit around and talk about your training, to help you out. But trialling this Meerkat app for a month will be a fun way to start doing something similar.

Before you get too excited about this, there is one thing you should know:

I’m not really sure how this is going to work.

I have never used the app before, and maybe live training will be interesting or helpful to you, maybe it won’t. I also don’t know how I am going to format the stream, I will probably have to just stand up the tablet at first, with both the pull up bar and dipping bars in shot.

This might mean audio issues so you might not hear us too well all of the time, but I am going to keep working to improve it as the month goes on.

During the month, I am going to build workout plans and templates for the training we are doing, which I will make available to you guys over the next few weeks.

Our first day was the starting point for us, so we did a run through of our Max Reps, to see where we were, and give us something to test against at the end.

If you haven’t heard of Meerkat, it is a live streaming app, but I have heard that you can opt to save the stream at the end, which I think allows people to watch it any time after. If I can get this to work I will, so that you could check them out anytime in the future too.

Guys this is an experiment, so remember that I have no idea what I am doing with this app. It may take a week and a bit of feedback from you guys to get it to a place where you get what you want from it. I am open to discussions about the format, I am open to ideas on how to make it a better experience for you, so feel free to email me or leave me a comment, and I will actively improve the live stream as we progress over the next few weeks.

Are You Interested?

I will be tweeting out the link for today’s training session this afternoon I’ll give you a heads up about an hour before so you can tune in when we are ready.
